Good Evening All,
When I set out on this journey of blog writing, one of the things was to get over my fears. The Creator didn't give us a spirit of fear. Fear can hinder you from realizing your destiny or things that the Creator wants you to accomplish for His purpose. One of my fears was driving. I hate to drive; however, I will drive around my surrounding area within a 20 mile radius. That radius doesn't include tollways or expressways. Well today, I had to go on a job interview and it was 24 miles from my home. I had turned down job prospects because of my fear of driving and only prospecting jobs that were near the house or near a train line. The job interview is along a major tollroad and expressway not far from my home. What I did the night before was print out directions for the use of side streets and expressways. You know I couldn't sleep last night because I was about to face one of my fears. The next morning I watched the news for any traffic delays along the routes I was going to take (i.e. tollroads and expressways) and there was an accident along the expressway I was going to use. Lucky for me, I was going to take the side streets because that is what I am most comfortable with. Well, the side streets didn't pan out that well initally because I got turned around (Thank you Yahoo Maps) and I had to stop at a gas station to get directions. The customers asked me where I was going and they were looking at me like, why didn't you just take the expressway idiot. I was thinking that myself. As I was looking at the clock, I thought I might call the Interviewer and tell her that I was going to be about 15 minutes late. Mind you, I had about 40 minutes to spare. I got back on the right path and continued my journey on the side streets. Talking about a scenic route. The route was beautiful. It is the kind of route that eases your mind but I couldn't imagine taking this route in the dark. The route was along a forest preserve with wild animals crossing. Well, after the ordeal, I made it to my interview with 24 minutes to spare. On time, I thought. The interview went rather well. I left with a good feeling. When I got in my car, I decided to take the tollway which was right outside the place of the interview. I made it back home safe and sound. Thank the Creator. I am so proud of myself. This is the first time I drove on the expressway in about 6 years when my sister made me drive to Oakbrook Mall on the tollroad. I am so happy that I took a step towards overcoming my fears. Another fear I am about to overcome is showing my face. What the heck. Like my good friend AG says "What will be, will be." I say "Que Sera Sera."
Blessings!!!!!!!!!
