Looking Polished

Good Afternoon,

I hope all is well and everyone that watched the Superbowl last night, I told you so that the New York Giants were going to win.  I don’t follow football and I can care less who had won; however, I wanted New York to win because it was New York.  Being from Chicago, you can guess that I have a case of big city syndrome.  Anyways, I hope those of you were able to grab a piece of Jason Wu’s for Target capsule collection.  My little sister who lives in the city went to Target and said that by the time she went there, everything was gone especially the small sizes.  One blogger, said the line is kind of boxy.  I don’t know.  I haven’t received my two dresses yet and when I do, I will let you know.
As I mentioned on numerous times, I can be rather random.  Today’s randomness is centered around being polished.  As a kid, I admired women especially older women that look polished.  My aunt was one of those people.  Every since I can remember, my aunt was always polished.  I remember her in her 30s and 40s rocking her LV speedy with her diamond studs.  Her makeup was on point and her hair was cut short.  Rewind today, me in my late 30s rocking my curly pixie cut and my 2 carat diamond studs.  Being polished was one of the things that I aspired to be.  Low maintenance.  When I go to the nail salon behind my home, the nail technicians call me plain jane because I wear my own nails (healthy and beautiful) and no designs on my toes or nails.  Why would I distort my Essie or Chanel polish with embellishments? My jewelry alone are my embellishments.    Being polished, is KISS; Keep it Simple Stupid or Less is More.

The keys to looking polished are knowing you.  Playing around with make-up choices or clothes that make you look your best.  Fit is always a key.  Clothes that are too big or too small will take away the polish from any look.  Quality is also a key.  I am not saying go out and spend $$$$$$ on a wardrobe because $$$$$$ doesn't equate quality.  Also, stick to clean lines.  Clean lines can always be dressed up with some key statement pieces such as a handbag, shoes, or a piece of jewelry.  Lastly, stay true to yourself.  Knowing the true you and giving yourself credit will add any polish to whatever you choose.

Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue

Good Morning All, I have been enjoying this nice Chicago weather we have.  It has been around 70-80 degrees for almost two weeks now.  It is kind of creepy.  I went to Culver's yesterday to get one of my favorite treats, a three scoop lemon Ice and while in the drive through I see a big bumblebee.  Spring is definitely in the air.  I am waiting for the ball to drop.  Will we be getting 6 inches of snow in May?  Anyways, I got a new bag.  Well, I exchanged a bag that I had bought about two months ago for this bag.  It is the Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue.  I had purchased this bag in white/tan for the spring and had a change of heart.  I like white bags; however, they don't wear well.  Eventually they will get some kind of color transfer from denim or they will yellow overtime. I have a Chloe and Marc Jacobs bag that did that.  Well, the bag in my opinion is not royal blue in person.  It is more of a cerulean blue... that same cerulean blue that cause

Dooney and Bourke is Becoming My Favorite Again

Is Blogging Dead?

Hello To All. I have been missing in action from this blog since 2015.  I am the type of person that gets bored with things quite quickly.  I have a question for you today.  Is blogging dead?  There are millions of blogs out there covering everything from fashion, food, homes, wine, and etc.  With the fashion piece, Instagram has taken over the need to post a  blog about what a person is wearing and what the audience should buy. However, is it quite necessary to share with the world everything that a person does in their life. I am signing off with this open ended question; should you leave things to the  imagination?  Ponder on that question; will you. Until next time, many, many, many, blessings!
