True Knowledge and Wisdom

In the news you always hear about how public schools are not teaching children the right skills to be competitive in today’s global economy or how college degrees are not preparing students for the jobs that are available.  A colleague and I recently had a discussion about ideas on how schools can be fixed. He was studying for a Masters in Public Policy at Northwestern University in Chicago and I have a Masters in Public Administration.  We always share ideas on how public policies can be created to support public schools.  Being as cynical as I am, I talked about ideas vaguely but wanted to speak on things that are beyond our control without offending in the workplace.  Working in corporate America has taught me that some of the things that you are not to talk about are politics, religion, and sometimes sports.  I ask myself on a daily basis, why you can’t talk about politics, religion, race, and sexuality.  Those are things that we as a society should be able to talk about.  We can talk about the latest celebrity gossip such as Jay Z and Beyoncé’s baby being born by a surrogate, the Kardashians, how much the new CEO of Apple received in salary, and the list goes on.  Those things can seem interesting often to a point where they are trivial.  Have we become a nation that has been dumb down by not having standards?  In my opinion, as I read blogs and the comments, society laments on the downfall of other people or the dumbing down of everything around us.  There are no standards.  Anybody can get paid doing the most slanderous, vulgar, and perverted things out there.  Somebody like Tebow who praises the Creator for all the blessings that were bestowed upon him and his team are ridiculed.  Have we become a society where bad is good and good is bad?  We have.  When man lives by his own will, we are going to have disasters.  I don’t care who they elect in office, nothing is going to change for the overall good.  Things may seem like they are getting better, but in actuality, they are not.  With all the colleges and universities out there, we are a society that is definitely dumb down lacking true knowledge and wisdom.  I have two masters degrees and I feel that my wisdom and knowledge has come from the Creator.  My mother has taught me if you pray for anything, pray for wisdom and understanding.  Wisdom and understanding comes from the Creator. Wisdom that is bestowed upon those who incline their ears, apply their heart, cry out, seek wisdom, and search for it.  Wisdom is the understanding of what is true, right or lasting.  Nothing is everlasting.  Things that were it, are no longer.  If society seeks wisdom and understanding, most of the problems that we have will be minimum.  You can acquire much knowledge from education, but true wisdom comes only from the Creator.

Blessings!!!!!

Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue

Good Morning All, I have been enjoying this nice Chicago weather we have.  It has been around 70-80 degrees for almost two weeks now.  It is kind of creepy.  I went to Culver's yesterday to get one of my favorite treats, a three scoop lemon Ice and while in the drive through I see a big bumblebee.  Spring is definitely in the air.  I am waiting for the ball to drop.  Will we be getting 6 inches of snow in May?  Anyways, I got a new bag.  Well, I exchanged a bag that I had bought about two months ago for this bag.  It is the Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue.  I had purchased this bag in white/tan for the spring and had a change of heart.  I like white bags; however, they don't wear well.  Eventually they will get some kind of color transfer from denim or they will yellow overtime. I have a Chloe and Marc Jacobs bag that did that.  Well, the bag in my opinion is not royal blue in person.  It is more of a cerulean blue... that same cerulean blue that cause

Dooney and Bourke is Becoming My Favorite Again

Is Blogging Dead?

Hello To All. I have been missing in action from this blog since 2015.  I am the type of person that gets bored with things quite quickly.  I have a question for you today.  Is blogging dead?  There are millions of blogs out there covering everything from fashion, food, homes, wine, and etc.  With the fashion piece, Instagram has taken over the need to post a  blog about what a person is wearing and what the audience should buy. However, is it quite necessary to share with the world everything that a person does in their life. I am signing off with this open ended question; should you leave things to the  imagination?  Ponder on that question; will you. Until next time, many, many, many, blessings!
