Materialism At Its Worst

american materialism

Good Morning All,

I hope all is well.  I have been a little lazy with the blog.  I have been doing some soul searching; trying to be the best person that I can possibly be.  I have some guilty pleasures like shopping I am trying to limit but after watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta last night, I need to add reality television to the list.  The ladies on RHOA went to the motherland Africa (South Africa to be exact) and acted a plumb fool.  Normally, when I watch any reality television, I just take it as a grain of salt and use it for my amusement.  As last night's episode unfolded, I got to witness materialism or should I say pretentiousness from two of the ladies Marlo and Sheree.  I am not going to do a recap but the ladies were arguing on how many Rolex watches they have, who returns clothes to Neiman Marcus, who paid cash for an Aston Martin, and etc.  I was embarrassed.  As I watch the RHO of any city, it shows materialism at its worst.  I use to frequent one blog about purses  in the past and I had to stop.  The women on the blog were quite catty and downright horrible.  I came to the conclusion, that most people buy things to impress other people.  People place a value on other people based on things and what they have.  The argument was senseless and based on things that are superficial and fleeting. It is one thing to like nice things, but don't make that your first priority.  Materialism is a god.  The Creator says that you shouldn't have any gods before Him.  Materialism is what got us in the mess we are in with the economy.  As I am writing this or anything for that matter, this is meant for me as well.  I am in an ongoing process of re-evaluating what is really important in my life.  The ultimate goal is to help others and don't tear them down.  If people did more of helping others, people wouldn't have the time to tear one another down based on materialism and pretentiousness.

Blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue

Good Morning All, I have been enjoying this nice Chicago weather we have.  It has been around 70-80 degrees for almost two weeks now.  It is kind of creepy.  I went to Culver's yesterday to get one of my favorite treats, a three scoop lemon Ice and while in the drive through I see a big bumblebee.  Spring is definitely in the air.  I am waiting for the ball to drop.  Will we be getting 6 inches of snow in May?  Anyways, I got a new bag.  Well, I exchanged a bag that I had bought about two months ago for this bag.  It is the Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue.  I had purchased this bag in white/tan for the spring and had a change of heart.  I like white bags; however, they don't wear well.  Eventually they will get some kind of color transfer from denim or they will yellow overtime. I have a Chloe and Marc Jacobs bag that did that.  Well, the bag in my opinion is not royal blue in person.  It is ...

Is Blogging Dead?

Hello To All. I have been missing in action from this blog since 2015.  I am the type of person that gets bored with things quite quickly.  I have a question for you today.  Is blogging dead?  There are millions of blogs out there covering everything from fashion, food, homes, wine, and etc.  With the fashion piece, Instagram has taken over the need to post a  blog about what a person is wearing and what the audience should buy. However, is it quite necessary to share with the world everything that a person does in their life. I am signing off with this open ended question; should you leave things to the  imagination?  Ponder on that question; will you. Until next time, many, many, many, blessings!

Louis Vuitton Dog Advertisement

Louis Vuitton Montreal, Canada  July, 2009 I know this is random; however after looking at numerous publications such as Vogue over the past two months, I couldn't help but to love their new advertisement campaign featuring the Japanese Chins.  I lived in Japan for about 4 1/2 years and I fell in love with Japanese Chins.  I loved them so much that I purchased a cute little male Japanese Chin from a non-for-profit organization in Lake County (Chicago, Illinois).  I was tickled to see how my love for Louis Vuitton and Japanese Chins were brought to life
