A Day of Firsts

Good Evening All

Sorry for the delay.  I have been kind of a slacker especially today.  Today was the first day of snow for the season in Chicago. Yes, the first day.  We haven't had a white snow day since March, 2011. Also, was my first day back downtown Chicago this year, first time I saw an old colleague of mine and close friend since we were both laid off back in November today; my first time seeing the new upscale Walgreens that just opened and last but not least, the first time going to my favorite show, Windy City Live.

I had a great time on the show.  I met the shows hosts Ryan and Valerie and they look amazing.  I even won a complimentary wine tasting at my favorite restaurant that serves wine, Coopers Hawk(http://www.coopershawkwinery.com/). I also watched a martial arts demonstration by a guy who was a former Marine and a protege of Lupe Fiasco's dad.  The sensi (teacher in Japanese) didn't mentioned that Gregory Jaco was Lupe's dad; I just figured because I know some of Lupe's family members.  I knew that Lupe's dad was into martial arts and Lupe's sister is my sister's closet friend.  I also received 10 complimentary classes from his martial arts studio.  So, it was a show full of coincidences.  The show was pre-taped and it can be viewed tomorrow at 9AM CST on WLS (Chicago).  For those of you not in Chicago, you can visit the website and watch a live stream of the program at http://www.windycitylive.com.  Try to guess which one is me in the audience.

Also, I had the opportunity to check out the brand new flagship Walgreens that opened this past Tuesday across the street form the Windy City Live studio.  I snagged a free box of blue press-on manicure nails  in which my teenage daughter couldn't wait to try out and some custom made eel sushi. Under one roof, you can get your nails done at the nail salon inside, enjoy a wine tasting, fill a prescription, get a flu shot, get handmade sushi, and enjoy a cup of non-fat fro-yo out the machine.  I was impressed.

What I realized today, is that I enjoy my city Chicago even more when I don't have to commute 5 days a week for work.  When I worked downtown, I couldn't wait to leave work and run for the train to commute back to the suburbs.  Now that I don't work downtown, I actually enjoyed the Macy's storefronts which I passed 5 days a week twice a day for 4 years and all the new and exciting things that are happening in the city.  This is the first time in about 9 years that I can actually say that Chicago is a world class city and I am blessed to be a Chicagoan.

Blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue

Good Morning All, I have been enjoying this nice Chicago weather we have.  It has been around 70-80 degrees for almost two weeks now.  It is kind of creepy.  I went to Culver's yesterday to get one of my favorite treats, a three scoop lemon Ice and while in the drive through I see a big bumblebee.  Spring is definitely in the air.  I am waiting for the ball to drop.  Will we be getting 6 inches of snow in May?  Anyways, I got a new bag.  Well, I exchanged a bag that I had bought about two months ago for this bag.  It is the Dooney and Bourke Florentine Smith Bag in Royal Blue.  I had purchased this bag in white/tan for the spring and had a change of heart.  I like white bags; however, they don't wear well.  Eventually they will get some kind of color transfer from denim or they will yellow overtime. I have a Chloe and Marc Jacobs bag that did that.  Well, the bag in my opinion is not royal blue in person.  It is more of a cerulean blue... that same cerulean blue that cause

Dooney and Bourke is Becoming My Favorite Again

Is Blogging Dead?

Hello To All. I have been missing in action from this blog since 2015.  I am the type of person that gets bored with things quite quickly.  I have a question for you today.  Is blogging dead?  There are millions of blogs out there covering everything from fashion, food, homes, wine, and etc.  With the fashion piece, Instagram has taken over the need to post a  blog about what a person is wearing and what the audience should buy. However, is it quite necessary to share with the world everything that a person does in their life. I am signing off with this open ended question; should you leave things to the  imagination?  Ponder on that question; will you. Until next time, many, many, many, blessings!
