Week Recap

Good Morning All, I have been rather busy this week.  I started not one but two jobs this week.  I actually worked three jobs including my volunteer work at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.  I am tired but; a good kind of tired.  I was reading the Oprah magazine yesterday and it featured women who embarked on their dreams no matter what age they are.  I was amazed how a woman became a firefighter in her 60s.  This was an inspiration for me.  As I recap on the week and my journey for enlightenment that started in December, I can do anything that I put my mind to largely; all props to the Creator.  On my almost 5 months hiatus from working, I started a blog; lost 30 pounds; took up running; volunteered; and embarked on a spiritual journey with the Creator and His Son.  I am truly blessed. Well, yesterday was first day on the job at Ann Taylor.  I work at the new concept store in the area.  I had a ball yester...

Damn If You Do..... Damn If You Don't

Good Morning All, This week has been rather interesting.  I have been really busy.  I start my two new jobs this week.  My main full-time job, I start tomorrow.  I have also accepted a position at Ann Taylor on the weekends.  About 5 years ago, I worked at Ann Taylor Loft part-time.  I need the extra income since I have been out of work for almost 5 months.  I have a daughter that will be going away to college in two years and the hubby and I maybe moving back into the city... Lord willing.  Well, this week I unpacked my summer clothes to go through them.  To my amazement and dismay, none of my clothes fit properly.  I have lost 30 pounds in 3 months.  The weight just started dropping when I took up running.  I now run about 5 hours a week and 3 hours a week on the elliptical machine.  I also weigh train about 4 hours a week.  My body has definitely changed.  I have the V shape going on.  However, I ...

Resurrection Day, Origami, and Louis Vuitton Nolita Bag

Happy Resurrection Day!!!!!! Today is the day that my Lord and Savior rose from the dead.  This marks a day of renewal.  Jesus Christ made everything anew.  I got up this morning to have some hot cross buns, sliced strawberries, oranges, blueberry Greek yogurt, and coffee with some Irish Creme.  I went to church today for service and they served slices of pie on plates with silverware.  Being that I am still watching what I eat, I took two slices to go so I can calculate the calories when I got home.  The family and I kept it lite for Easter dinner.  I made a salad with with spinach, strawberries, red onions, celery, carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes. My husband put some Min Min vegetable spring rolls and Trader Joes Handsomely Cut French Fries in the oven.  I also picked up a bucket of hot and honey drummetts from the local grocery store along with some Hawaiian rolls. Well, I decided to jazz it up for Resurrection Sunday with my new ori...

Origami Fever

Add http://www.newport-news.com/maxi-tank-dress-with-draped-skirt.html caption http://www.spiegel.com/origami-seamed-skirt-with-inset-panels.html Happy April and Holy Week Spring is definitely in the air.  This week is Holy Week and unfortunately the weather here in Chicago is not as nice as it was two weeks ago.  This is a very special week celebrating the resurrection of my Savior.  It also brings back the fondest memories of me in Japan, 2005.  I remember attending sunrise Easter service under the cherry blossoms.  Japan was the most favorite place for my family and I.  One of the things I remember most is my daughter bringing home origami.  I think my daughter was obsessed with origami at the time.  Well, one of my favorite bloggers Wendy's Lookbook showcased an origami blazer by Patricia Chang.  The blazer can be seen at http://www.wendyslookbook.com/2012/04/spring-origami-structured-blazer-lime-dress/sed . I am sort of ob...
