I See Stripes...... Nautical

Blessings to All,

Every year designers alike come out with the trends for the new year. Pantone http://www.pantone.com/images/header/hdr_logo_en-na.gif  announced that emerald is the color of 2013. Other fashion insiders stated that 2013 is getting back to the basics. Black and white is the color that everyone should have in there wardrobe. This is not hard for me since the majority of my wardrobe has always been black. As I mentioned in earlier posts, I like what I like. When you have an authenticity about the wardrobe you choose, you will always be on trend. That is why I like my black and white and of course nautical stripes. My love of nautical is very close to me because of my stint in the United States Navy. Here are some of my favorite pieces.

Dooney and Bourke Leather Janine Satchel

Good Evening All, This week has been rather hectic.  Dealing with family issues and job interviews at the same time.  All is good and the Creator is in charge.  I had purchased a Dooney and Bourke bag about two months ago to store my keys, ipod and identification when I workout at the gym. The bag wasn't a great choice and I end up exchanging the bag for a Dooney and Bourke Leather Janine Satchel in gray. At first I didn't really like the Janine Satchel because of the size.  I love big bags; however since I have lost over 20 pounds, big bags are starting to overwhelm my stature.  I wanted a gray bag because I wear a lot of gray outfits and have been unable to find the perfect gray bag.  There are many different shades of gray that tend to be a little taupe or have a bluish undertone.  This bag is more on the heather gray side with the beige vachetta accent. I Am Back

Blessings To Everyone, It has been two months since I last blogged.  I have been extremely busy with work.  I was working on a dress for success event with both my employers that includes Ann Taylor.  We created an initiative to teach graduates how to dress for interviews and what to wear for work.  At my primary job, we have to create initiatives along with my current job duties. The event was a success. One of the student models was offered a job at the new Loft flagship in Chicago. I also have been contemplating which way I would like this blog to go.  The blog started out as a self help for me and to inspire others as well. I want to focus on inspiring others. In the past two months I have been out of town to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.  Going to New York was one of the things I wanted to do before I leave this world.  I would say that it is part of my bucket list.  I enjoyed myself.  You know I love all thing...

Happy 4th of July

H A P P Y  4 T H  O F  J U L Y  ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I would like to take this opportunity to say Happy 4th of July to all.  I am taking it easy today.  My hubby barbecued some jerk chicken breast that have been marinating over night, some beef hot dogs, some lamb burgers, hamburgers, jerk shrimp, and some chicken quarters.  I did a healthy alternative to my famous macaroni and cheese ( wheat rotini noodles).  We are keeping it light.  My sister is coming over and we are just going to watch some movies and relax.  As an ode to the 4th of July, here are some items that I recommend not only for today, but for all time.
