Good Morning,
I have been lazy lately in regards to keeping up this blog. Like I mentioned when I first started this blog, I am random. I am a person who gets bored with things very fast. Don't get me wrong, I like talking about random things that mostly involve around fashion and looking your best. However, as I get a little older and gain wisdom, I find that there are more important things to talk about.
I am a blogger, who follows other bloggers and I find that everyone is pretty much talking about and doing the same things. I can put pictures of myself in various outfits and post them on the blog (which I have done) but I find that other bloggers do this as well and what is the fun in that?
One thing on my journey to self awareness is that I tend to do the opposite of what everyone else is doing. In fact, that was one of the few lessons I received from my parents growing up. If everyone else is going right, you go left. I feel that you stand out more when you do your own thing... according to the Creator's guidance.
Something that has been on my mind for a long time is de facto segregation. De facto is a term that defines reality, what is really happening but is not supported by law. In regards to this term applied to segregation it means people being separated from the main status quo or majority. I found living in Chicago to be very segregated. The schools are segregated meaning the more affluent schools represent the majority White population and the impoverished schools are represented by the Black or Hispanic majority. Neighborhoods are often segregated as well. Now, laws are not in place to support these types of segregation but they are practiced on a daily basis. As a Black woman, I can honestly say that people often segregate themselves. One would say that they feel most comfortable with people that look like them. I beg to differ. I love diversity and because I am Black, that doesn't mean that I can relate to other Blacks. I may be Black but I have life experiences that have enabled me to embrace all cultures, races, backgrounds and the like.
I think all of the social ills of society stem from segregation and de facto segregation. When the Creator made man, we were created in His image to live on the Earth. Man created the separation of people by putting them in little boxes. It is not a one size fits all. People will grow more and understand each other if we get out and be with people that don't look like us. You will be surprised of what you learn. I love people. We were put on this earth to love and to serve all people. I am not going to get too deep.... not just yet anyway. Please ponder on the last statement and be inspired by it.
Many, many, Blessings.
