I hope all is well. I
have been really busy lately trying to figure out what I am going to do with
myself. What I mean career wise. I currently style women for a living at Ann
Taylor but my background is really broad.
Have you ever wondered as an adult what you wanted to be when you grow
up? I wonder that all the time being
that I am in my late 30s. One thing that I do enjoy is helping others be the best
possible self they possibly can be.
I have been pondering why women buy clothes too big here in America? Working in the industry and helping women find clothing for their lives; they often buy clothes two sizes too big. Some are afraid to show off or accentuate the body that they have and others are trying to hide the lumps (so humorously called by one of my clients).
I was reading an article about how Europeans like closer fitting or tailored clothes. Europeans don’t anticipate on gaining any weight. Gaining weight is not an option in Europe and especially when buying couture clothing. To counteract that notion, my clients buy clothes too big to anticipate weight gain.
Since my recent weight loss, I buy things that accentuate my curves. Having an hourglass figure and toned arms, I buy sleeveless close fitting dresses to show off my hard work. I am dressing according to my body type and I don’t anticipate on gaining any weight. Anything that is loose fitting like a maxi dress or sheath dress makes me look like a cow in a gown. My question, is why do Americans speak weight gain to existence whereas Europeans shun at the notion of gaining weight?
Blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
