Good Afternoon,
As I mentioned on earlier posts, I am kind of random. I may sometimes write about anything that first comes to my mind. Sometimes, it may take me days to ponder on some of things I want to get out of my system. Well, today I am just random... meaning I am going to let the Spirit lead me.
Today was a rather nice day. I went to church and received a good message that I want to parlay on to my followers out there. However, I want to share with you an experience I had at lunch today. After church, the family and I went to a restaurant called Coopers Hawk. They are known in the Chicagoland area for their great wine. I love their wine so much that I joined their wine club. Being a part of the wine club entitles you to a free entree for your birthday. My husband and I each received a mailer for an entree. This was great considering funds are low and I didn't feel like cooking The only person that I had to buy lunch for was my daughter. Well, I was excited about having lunch with the family until our waiter approached the table. He was a handsome young man; however, he looked like he didn't want to be there. He was surly in demeanor. He didn't smile and when I asked him for straws for water, he just threw them on the table. When I asked for parmesan cheese for my angel hair pasta, he brought it to me in a dirty container. I asked the manager to bring me another one in a clean container. My husband and I enjoyed our meal and the waiter approached the table to clear it off. After that he brought us the bill. I was in the middle of giving him my credit card to settle the bill and talking to him; he walks away. I had enough of his attitude and approached the concierge to settle my bill there. She told me I had to give it to the waiter and I explained to her that the waiter had a bad attitude. She went and got the manager. I told the manager that I worked in customer service and a business is dependent on customer service.. He agreed and offered to pay the entire bill. I offered to pay my bill, but he insisted on it.
Now I understand the method to my husband's madness. He only likes takeout. He doesn't want to deal with the lousy service and our debating on how much or if we should tip the server.
The point I am getting at is everyone was placed on this earth to serve a purpose. My purpose is to be a good wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and soon to be step-grandmother. Also, my purpose is to be the best Sales Associate/Stylist at Ann Taylor I can possibly be. Our job on this earth is to serve others no matter what capacity we are placed in. Our waiter's purpose was to do his job to the best of his ability and be thankful that he is working.
As I mentioned earlier, that is the message the Spirit led me to relay to you all. The whole idea of this blog is to express myself and to serve others in the process.
Blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
